Ok so during the hols that's when the intense training started. Most of the training have to run 4.3km in the morning before rowing, so i guess our stamina improved a lot from all those running session. haha imba kelvin with a big tummy peak timing was 17:33, O.o damn fast.

So it was around mid-nov or end-nov that we got paired up and assigned fo SCM (singapore canoe marathon). T1- cyrus, kelvin, winnie, jessie. K1-wei bin, justin, vernissa, rachel. k2- zhi kang & yi yong, de jun & yan xiang, me & zhen yong, angel & yi ling. Ok so that's the pairing. Every training consists of us chiong rowing 6 rounds around the reservoir and a few simulated pottages ( running on the galleria)

So on 16th Jan we moved the boats down to kallang reservoir and did a tour on the circuit. Haha scenery there owns br scenery, can row by Singapore flyer and see the IR although none of us paid attention to that during the race.

17th Jan was the big day. All of us got there early. Haha guess most of us were tense since it's our 1st major competition. Damn lots of boats there as well, probably about a hundred or more boats on the morning race.

Ok enough talking i guess, let the pictures do some of the talking here.

so the results for SCM was : K2-me & zy 6th. Angel & yi ling 8th. T1- kelvin 1st. k1- rachel 4th, vernisa 5th.

haha jasper here to do some update on the blog. 09 canoeing batch career just ended yesterday after PA300.Won a few medals, k4girls (bronze), sit-on-top(bronze) and T1(silver) along with several others semi-finalists and finalists. Stay tune for the 09 batch update cuz i have to sort through my memory bank and remember what happen during my batch.

This happened today (04/05/09) during training...together with mr chua, the J1 guys helped the school attendant coil back the rope of the flag pole after it dropped when she was lowering the national flag at around 6 plus. After much effort, it was done, and it created "history"?!?...haha refer below please!...

the SENIORS'(07/08) FAREWELL 2008 was held on 23rd dec. it was a FULL-DAY affair, starting at 9am in the morning in college...

one of the games we played: captain's FISHball

another game we had: human foosball (waiting for instructions on how to play the game...we was supposed to stand between the rafia strings)

frankly speaking for me it was the most interesting game in the morning!=D

after our lunch break we proceeded to the reservoir for FOTO TAKING with our boats n CANOE POLO.
(more pictures will b posted here for the benefit of those who cant access those uploaded on facebook by TAN YI CHAO)

then we proceeded to mr chua's condo's function room for our dinner...we jus love mr chua's condo, doesn't we?lol=x

while we waited for the commence of the dinner, the seniors did the usual...

after dinner the juniors distributed our souvenirs, TPJC Canoeing T-shirts! wads best was that there were C boat ones as well! WOOO!!!

then, according to mr chua, he wanted to sing to us the edited "Sometimes when we touch" which he didn't... but HEY its the thought that counts, right? =]

even though the morning activities felt like orientation to me, it was still a memorable day for us.(its been a month n i can still rmb all the activities we did, ok.)

How much do you want to win? How much do you want to be that happy?
It's not enough to just give it a shot.
Give it your best. So when it is all over there will be no 'if only's and 'i could have's. Give it your everything, it may not seem like much, but take the trainings seriously. You never know what much of a difference your everything can make.

Not just for yourself. But for the team. Everytime you feel tired, think of your team mates who are depending on you. Everytime you feel like giving up, have faith, there is always hope. No matter how much there is, even the tiniest bit of hope can help bring out the champion in you. In all of us, there is a champion. It is up to you how you are going to bring that champion out.

There are many ways of winning, but one thing for sure is that you cant win just based on strength or skill. You have to believe, and you have to want it. Sometimes it is tiring and your mind tells you that you are not good enough. Never let anything put you down. Not the capsizing, not the co ordination, not the boat, not your team mates, not your friends, not your competitors, not defeat. Nothing, no one. We are all the same, it just depends how strong you are mentally. I ask you again, how much do you want this? I believe everyone has made sacrifices one way or another in the course of your commitment to the team. Make these sacrifices worth it. FOCUS. Make everything worth it. It will not be a waste if you give your best.

Give your best for no regrets. There is never the perfect situation and many a time things may not seem to be in your favour. It is up to you, not anyone else, to make sure that you are better than everything else.

Support your team mates, don't put them down. Give constructive criticism that will help them improve, not comments that will kill their passion and make them doubt themselves. Always help each other, that is what a team is. Overcoming differences, despite whatever we feel towards each other. It is important that we see beyond ourselves and function as a team, especially now.

Give it your best shot. Every training counts. If you don't give your best now, when will you ever get the chance to? You have to want this as much and even more than others if you want to win. 20 more to go. How will you use your time you have left?

Before the PA300 Championships, we were told to use this as an indicator of our standard against other schools.

Good job to those who made it through and came out with medals as something to show for your improvement and for your hard work. We are all very proud of you and rest assured everyone else will also put in their best effort to be in your places too. Melissa, Suzhen and Elvis, Soo and Denise, Hui Jun and Shu Jie. You made history today. You made history bringing back the first few medals and give yourself a pat on the back for coming this far. The dragonboat crews, Good job too. We have made significant improvements and even got out own medals to keep. So for this competition good job.

But do remember, what our girls captain said is right, we may not have seen the best over the past few days. Also factor in that there are many other colleges we have yet to see.

So the question to ask yourself now is, where do you think you stand?
If you think that you are far from the top, what are you going to do about it? How are you going to work to reach the top. Good things don't come easy. So press on and keep working hard, dont ever give up. What will you choose when you wake up each morning, to keep moving forward or simply give up? Remember, every one of your team mates goes through the same pressure and we'll do it together. Believe in each other, support each other. Be strong, never let anything put you down. Push yourself to the limits. Break the limits. Suprise people. Step up to the challenge.

For those who are reaching the stars, use your experience to help others. But do not grow complacent, for the journey has not ended yet. Keep going strong and we all believe that you will suprise us all over again come nationals.

So where do you stand? And where do you think you will finish in the end? It doesnt matter what people think of you, because you know what, you can always prove them wrong.

Achieve something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream. Because it's only when you're tested that you truly discover who you are. And it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist, somewhere on the other side of hard work and faith and belief.

There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment, you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on the path? Will others tell you who you are or will you label yourself? Will you be haunted by your choice or will you embrace your new path? Each morning you choose to move forward or to simply give up.

There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment, who will you be? Will you be a winner? How much do you want this? Stepping up. It's a simple concept. It basically means to rise above yourself, to do a little more, to show you're something special.

Now for what i wanted to say on wed but which i couldn't.

The past few months which I shared with each and every one of you guys have been something that I will never forget and something which shall remain embedded deep within my memory forever. You guys weren't just team mates to me, you guys were family. I really hate to leave you guys but I hope that you all would understand and at this point of time I really want to apologise.

For the times that I shared with all of you, the tears, the laughter, through highs and lows, I thank you all. Each and every one of you are amazing individuals and I know you all share the common vision and dream that mr chua shares for the team. The vision to win, the vision to excel, the vision to allow each and every one of you guys to realise your full potential and be the best you can be. I will always be with you all in spirit, sharing that dream with you although I may not be there to share the hard training with you all. And I want to encourage you all to carry on, to press on, to strive to achieve excellence, to strive to achieve your best, to strive towards the common dream. You have all inspired me to be a better person, to work for what I really want, to be a do-er and not jus a thinker. And as I leave, I pray that you all would carry on that dream that you all share. To all my canoeists j1s this song is for you. It speaks my heart and i think we're going to have a good 12 months ahead. It's only been 7 months, but i feel like it's been some of the most awesome 7 months. thanks for cheering yur lungs out for me ytd. i couldnt really hear but i definitely felt it in my hrt. next yr, we'll all ged into the finals. though mr chua said that it's tough, but we can make it thru. as a team. we need to help everyone. pull everyone on. this is a journey that we hav to make it thru tgt. everyone is jus as impt. the seniors' journeys hav ended. but ours, hav jus began. so comeon, lets do them proud and go the distance. claim the top four medal for both boys and girls and show it to everyone else, that TPJC canoeist are not pushovers.

from now on it's be a two weeks break. lets ged our studies in order and ged our lives in order for some of us. study tgt. it's time to ged serious for promos. and remember the punishment for not so good grades? it's a one for all. all for one thing. so lets do our best and dun let our team mates ged pumped jus because we didnt study hard enough or whatsoever alright? i believe that all of us can make it.

lets treasure the one yr left with each other and may us put aside all of our differences. i dunno abt you guys, but i love the team, i love everyone. we're all different and unique in our individual ways. but i believe, that we all hav jus one aim. that is to not let ourselves down at the end of the day, and dun let each other and our seniors and most importantly, mr chua down. the trainings ahead WILL be much tougher. but we're all in for the same thing. so lets all hang on tgt.. alright? ther's nth we cant achieve.

Canoeist, the windbreakers are coming! On mon, some of us will be goin down to

"Throw a cow into antaritica, guess the brandname..."

to settle on the design. In total there are 9 designs to choose from. We will oso bring back some samples for everyone to try on then collect the sizes. The final price of the windbreaker will be $25 each. So pls prepare the money by anytime next wk. We hope to be able to wear our windbreakers by DB competition...If anyone object to the purchase of windbreaker pls let us noe, cos if one person dunwan, Mr chua will not go on with the deal.

i'm here to blog again. as well as to upload a couple of pictures.

some of us attended the one star course yesterday and today. well, it's really tiring but it is fun. we've learnt a couple of things. capsize and rescue drill. all i could say that i was super funny? eeww. saw a dead cat floating in the water today. i didn't see it and i wouldn't want to. it was ber who saw it. and zhenn saw the limbs!

ohhs.. when we capsized...went into the water...the dead cat in the water.. the water.. touched our faces and lips...some of us swallowed some of it(i'm sure some of you did!!).. ewww.... makes you guys feel like puking right?

we went macs for lunch after that. and we found out something. nesh has weak heart and so, no horror movies for him yahh? and timonthy was the clown for the day huh. made us laughed like crazy. that's all for the day.

today's training- tiring, exhausting

mr chua: do 6km.
mr chua: do pull ups and sit ups.
mr chua: do 4 sets of 500m race.
mr chua: do bursting from 250m mark.

after training- 160 push ups.

yahhs, today's training is indeed tiring. but you see, all of us endured through it. we stand by one another and words of encouragement makes everyone want to complete it. GIVE UP? nahhs. this can never be found in the canoeists.
